About the role:
Our Commissioning Start up Test Team is essential to proving that new or modified assets meet their design specification—and ensuring their safe, smooth transition into operations. On a highly regulated nuclear site, robust testing, fault finding, and demonstration of operability are critical to our mission.

You’ll work across a wide variety of environments, including:
• Operational value streams
• Major projects and site infrastructure
• New build and modification programmes
• IT, control, and security systems

With structured arrangements that support all project types and complexities, you’ll gain exposure to diverse facilities and systems across the site.

Joining the team means continuous skill development, strong early career support, and clear progression pathways. Whether you are an experienced Commissioning Test Lead/Test Engineer or looking to step into a plant-based commissioning role, you will be supported to grow and succeed.

Who we’re looking for:

• A technical background in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation engineering.
• Experience in fault finding, structured procedures, and evidence-based assurance.

• BEng, HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• EngTech, IEng or CEng registration (or working towards it).
• Technical expertise in electrical, instrumentation, or control systems, with strong diagnostic skills.

• Understanding of commissioning requirements aligned with Nuclear Site Licence Condition 21.
• Ability to form effective stakeholder relationships and communicate clearly.
• A drive for continuous improvement and the ability to influence outcomes.
• Understanding of design processes, HAZOP, risk, contract, estimating and knowledge management.
• Awareness of the Sellafield gated process.
• Ability to obtain DV (Developed Vetting) clearance.
• Experience in line management or mentoring (desirable).
